A sunny Sunday! We walk to our teashop, and we enjoy the quiet, calm town. The light is beautiful, the air is crisp cold, and the town is for who prefer a calm morning to a late night. 
Back home, I open my new set of gouache paint. I’ve bought six tubes only, and I soon regret not buying all basic, classical colours. Gouache paint is definitely back on my worktable.

Very nice painting of the swallow and a reminder that they will be arriving when the weather turns warm. They will constantly fly near the eaves of our house looking for safe areas to build their nest.
Indeed. This year I will put an extra nest-box up for a Common Swift on our balcony. Their numbers are declining, so the best thing we can do is provide them with nest boxes. No Swallows (Hirundo rustica) here in the city. They nest in rural areas. They are such pretty birds with their bluish black, red and white.

Beautifully done. Fun to see a different medium and style. Have seen gouache at the stores here and often wondered what it’s like to work with.
Lovely! I’ve never gotten the hang of gouache, so I enjoy seeing other people do it all the more. Love seeing the sights on the way to your teashop too.

I also bought a small set of gouache several months ago, but have not used it yet. I’d say your first sketch is very fine indeed. Looking forward to more pictures of Utrecht and gouach paintings by Paula.
